How to Pronounce Numbers in English

My heart starts beating quickly, I can’t breath slowly, and words start racing in my head. What causes this type of reaction in me? Talking on the phone in my second language. I can read, write, and even feel totally fine having a face to face conversation, but the moment the phone is pressed against my ear I feel nervous. How do you feel about talking on the phone in English?

Maybe it depends on the topic of the conversation. For me, talking about numbers gets a bit confusing. Can you pronounce 13/30, 14/40, 15/50 clearly? Do others understand when you say those numbers?

The good news is that you CAN learn to pronounce numbers clearly. The secret is knowing how to avoid a flat voice and where to place the stress. Watch this video to practice number pronunciation. Towards the end of the video you will have a short test, type your answers in the comments below.

P.S. I don’t feel as nervous now as I used to talking on the phone in my second language. I hope that you’re more confident about numbers now too. Let me know in the comments below.
