How to Study English Pronunciation?

You may not like this, but here’s the truth.

You cannot improve your spoken English without actually speaking. You need intentional speaking practice.

As a pronunciation coach,I've had potential clients contact me over the years and say they can study 4-6 hours a week for a few months to "lose" their accents.

To be honest, I used to think that way when I was learning my second language. Living abroad as a foreigner meant I had to speak clearly ASAP, so I crammed through 'study sessions' every evening.

Imagine this: me, a pile of books, an old IPOD Touch playing Spanish music, and a notebook. I’d listen to the music and write down words that I didn’t know and look them up in a dictionary and add them to my vocabulary list. I’d do this for hours by myself inside my studio apartment.

But do you know what really helped me become fluent? Having a plan. Getting outside and actually talking with the locals by focusing on one specific phrase, word, or sound.  That’s true for YOU too!

✨Remember this: consistency is better than intensity. I repeat- consistency >intensity. What does that mean to you?
